Crooked River, June 11 (Three)

My pal Greg and I went out in a canoe for a little fly fishing on one of the best streams in northern BC. This river is so full of fish it’s ridiculous, and they love to fight. We had to get going after work, so it was early evening by the time we were out there which made the light just right. I decided to bring a roll of colour slide film with me, something I hadn’t shot before. I was hoping to get some nice, rich, saturated colours and I wasn’t disappointed.

That’s Teapot Mountain in the middle. It’s a cool formation of columnar basalt.

I like this photo because it conveys the quiet of the evening and the coolness of the evening shadows. I’m convinced the only way to see a river is by canoe.
