Halifax, Aliant Building, August 2007

This is actually the Maritime Centre or something like that, but Bell Aliant — the regional telco — has their name plastered all over it. It’s an interestingly designed building, made thin and turned on an angle like that to preserve the viewing lines of the harbour from the top of Citadel Hill.

I took this from the roof of my apartment building on Hollis Street in downtown Halifax, a great place to watch the harbour traffic and generally watch the world go by. There are two tall spires there to the left. The one to the rear is St. Mary’s Cathedral at the corner of Barrington Street and Spring Garden Road. The one to the front is St. Matthew’s on Barrington.
