Seeds, July 2006

It was a rather hot day when I decided to go for a walk along the river. I thought I might get a few decent shots of the river during its lowest point of the year. I got a few photos along the river, but my favourite of the day came when I was walking back to the car.

I left the riverbank and walked up to the proper trail that runs alongside the river. It was very hot and there was absolutely no breeze. I noticed on the trail ahead this strange plant glowing in the sunshine like nothing I’d seen before. As I got closer I could see it was some sort of flower that had turned to seed, much like a dandelion but about a metre off the ground. Since there was no breeze I could get in very close and fill the frame with the interesting plant. I don’t normally shoot plants or flowers, but this one was just so interesting I had to capture it.
